‘87 series casey didn’t act like that (in fact he’d probably threaten to kill you for being a douche- he was justice-crazed vigilante maniac)

2k3 casey didn’t act like that (fyi the first time he said something misogynistic or douchetastic to april she corrected the FUCK out of him and he pretty much never did it again for the rest of the series) 

IDW casey doesn’t act like that (he’s a lovely young man with a tragic fucking life- why would he victimize anyone else in any way when he himself has been a victim before)  

the only casey i can think of who DID act like that was the original movies’ live action casey and even then April would scold the fuck out of him when he acted that way and he’d have to either realize what he said or did was offensive and apologize or get a huge ear-full and a cold shoulder from April. In fact I can really only think of one or two instances where he even did act like that and then after being scolded he’d stop. 

So, no. Casey’s character is not your “typical douchebag” or “suppossed to be a perv” and i’m sick of people badmouthing him, ragging on him, and trying to make him look bad on purpose.

He’s one of the most developed characters in the franchise and even if he does START OUT like a douche he develops PASSED that because inside he’s really a beautiful, understanding, caring, soft-hearted soul who only wants to help people and treat others with respect.

Development of a character does not START THEM OFF as a good character and then slowly make them DEGENERATE into a douche just so they can either build him up again or just KEEP him that way. That’s the opposite of what’s supposed to happen. I wouldn’t care if Casey acted that way at first and then developed passed it because THAT’S THE WAY DEVELOPMENT ACTUALLY WORKS. 

I know I haven’t seen the new ep yet so I know I don’t know what’s actually going to happen
but the passed few episodes in which Casey interacts with female characters (aka april and irma aka our only 2 female protags) haven’t exactly shown me that the direction he’s being written in is going in a promising direction. I guess we’ll wait and see but so far the writing for his character lately and for this show in general has been really disappointing to me in a lot of different areas.
