professor tolkien had all the hobbits smoke liberal amounts of tobacco which in a strictly accurate european middle-earth SHOULDN’T EXIST SINCE TOBACCO IS A NEW WORLD PRODUCT so if plate armor and slightly curved elvish blades are inaccurate i don’t care

also there are dragons the size of mountains flying about alongside huge vampire bats and literal werewolves and dark lords originally conceived as evil cats

take “historical accuracy” in middle-earth with a very large spoonful of salt
